09:19 PM CDT on Thursday, August 9, 2007

Associated Press

A soldier from Arizona died at Fort Hood after becoming pinned between two Bradley fighting vehicles.

Post officials today announced the victim was 34-year-old Staff Sergeant Jon Locascio. His hometown wasn't immediately available.

Locascio died Wednesday after the accident that happened while soldiers were trying to move the Bradley vehicles onto railroad cars.

Lieutenant Colonel Steve Stover says the vehicles will be moved to the National Training Center in Fort Irwin, California, where some troops also are going for training.

Locascio was a squad leader with Company B, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, which is to deploy to Iraq later this year.

He'd been at Fort Hood since July, after being stationed in Korea.

Locascio, who joined the Army in 1994, is survived by his wife and two children.
