It happened just before 2 p.m. at the Bank of America on Shoal Creek Boulevard near Anderson Lane.

Witnesses described the suspect as white, 35 to 45-years-old, 5'5" to 5'7 tall, 165 pounds, with a mustache and a dark, short beard.

Police said he escaped in a large, white 1990's model Chevy 4x4 pickup with an aluminum toolbox.

"We feel very confident it's pretty easy to identify, but we need the public's assistance in this particular case," said Joe Munoz, Austin Police Department.

It was unclear whether the robber is linked to any other robberies. This is the 15th bank robbery of the year.

No one was injured.
