Sergio Arce Jaimes, 21, is jailed at the Hays County Law Enforcement Center on the kidnapping charge, a first degree felony.

San Marcos police officers say they went to a restaurant in the 1600 block of Aquarena Springs Drive to investigate a reported abduction around 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

A 24-year-old woman, who was not identified, had been physically assaulted, forced into her vehicle and driven from the restaurant by her estranged boyfriend, said Commander Terry Nichols, Criminal Investigations Division.

Family members of the abducted woman spoke with her on the phone and believed she was being held against her will.

Police found Jaimes and the victim in a vehicle in the 900 block of Haynes Street. Jaimes was using a knife to hold the victim, Nichols said. Jaimes was arrested.

The victim suffered minor injuries during the incident.
