Weather didn't stop Austin's mayor from jumping Wednesday night off the
Pfluger Bridge, right into Town Lake.

Once Mayor Will Wynn hit the water, divers and park police were ready to
pick him up in a boat.
He did this as a show of support for an independent film being shot in
Austin called "Jumping Off Bridges."
The mayor says he wants the city to do more to help local filmmakers.
"The water in Town Lake is so much cleaner today than it used to be,"
Wynn said. "We've had triathlons recently in Town Lake. So it's good
that we use the lake, while we support local independent filming."
However, jumping into Town Lake is illegal without a permit from the
city.
