Dancer accused of kicking, spitting at APD officers
03:01 PM CDT on Thursday, July 24, 2008
A dancer was arrested after police say she kneed an officer and spit in his face outside the Yellow Rose in North Austin, according to court documents.
The incident happened July 22 outside the business on North Lamar. Officers said in an affidavit that they showed up to find Samantha Gillpac standing outside, screaming and cursing at a manager.
The manager told people she had been asked to leave because she had started acting "crazy," but she was refusing to leave.
Officers say Gillpac appeared to be intoxicated, and she was arrested. But once she was in handcuffs she spit at the manager and slipped out of the cuffs. When officers tried to put the handcuffs back on her wrists, that's when police say she became more verbally abusive, kicked an officer and then spit at him.
Gillpac was charged with assault on a police officer and harassment of a public servant. Bond was set at $7,500 for each charge.
