Georgetown police chase down suspected vehicle burglars
03:58 PM CDT on Monday, July 7, 2008
Two 17-year-olds were arrested in Georgetown early Monday, accused of stealing stereos, phones and other valuables from cars.
Georgetown police say officers chased down the teens through backyards and over fences in a neighborhood in the southwest part of the city before dawn. A third person got away.
At least 11 cars were targeted and $2,000 worth of items stolen. Police say most of the cars that had been burglarized were unlocked.
John Moreno and Eddie Higadera, both from Georgetown, were charged with burglary of a vehicle. If convicted they could be sentenced up to a year in jail and fined up to $4,000.
