06:33 PM CDT on Friday, June 29, 2007
Investigators Friday said the search for two 20-year-old men, whose Jeep was found submerged in a Burnet County creek, was still considered a rescue mission.
Bradley Andrew McMellon and Paul Lee Slinkard, both of Leander, disappeared sometime on Thursday. Investigatprs say they were last seen in Marble Falls around midnight June 27.
Their Jeep was found in Hickory Creek in Burnet County while crews were canvassing the area for road damage and evacuation needs after Wednesday's floods. The mangled Jeep was pulled out of the creek's rushing waters.
Texas Department of Public Safety officials, Travis County and Burnet County authorities searched six square miles around the creek on the ground and in the air. They added cadaver dogs and horses to the search Friday.

This Jeep was found in Hickory Creek.
"The ground is so hard to cover, we've had to cross back and forth several times," said John Leak, Burnet County investigator.
Investigators say they they found some parts of the Jeep in the debris as well as clothing that belongs to the missing men.
"We're not giving up hope. There's still time where we might be able to find them. I'm hoping we do."
