Suspects that set off massive Cedar Park search arrested
11:27 AM CDT on Wednesday, June 11, 2008
Police have arrested the fourth person they say broke into a Cedar Park apartment last month, setting off a massive manhunt after the incident.
Timothy Whorton, 27, of Jonestown was taken into custody Tuesday night and charged with criminal trespassing.
Cedar Park police say a maintenance man went into a vacant unit at the Red Stone Ranch Apartments and found four people inside -- two of them are juveniles.
The men ran out carrying a rifle and handgun and managed to escape despite the large police search.
At the time police thought they had stopped a burglary in progress, but they say they now believe the four were using the apartment as a place to hang out.
The two juveniles and Joseph Howell, 17, of Cedar Park, were also taken into custody. Police say the men are also suspects in Travis County burglaries and additional charges could be filed against them.
