Three Austin area high schools have been ranked on the list of the top 100 high schools in the nation, as compiled by Newsweek magazine.

Westlake High School in Eanes ISD was listed as 52, Westwood H.S. in Round Rock ISD was number 77 and LBJ High School in Austin ISD was ranked 95.

The rankings are based on the number of graduating seniors who take and pass certain tests including Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate.
