Three charged in church burglaries
02:12 PM CDT on Tuesday, April 25, 2006
A former church employee and two others face burglary charges after police said they stole several computers and other electronic equipment from a Westlake Hills church. The burglaries took place last month at the Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church on Bee Caves Road. Jason Tobias, 20, and two teens confessed to stealing 10 laptops, a camera, a power point projector and other electronic equipment worth almost $13,000. Police say one of the teens worked part-time at the church and used a master key to get inside. Most of the stolen equipment has since been returned.
