James Ray Ross was arrested and tried in Williamson County, after the victim told her mother about the incident, out of fear that Ross would also assault her younger sister.
Round Rock investigators say Ross admitted to sexual assaults, and prosecutors say he did not testify during his trial or put up a defense.
The jury took eight minutes to convict Ross on two counts of sexual assault.
Williamson County prosecutors say he was prosecuted under a special statute for repeat sex offenders that sets an automatic life in prison for a second conviction of sexual abuse of a child.
Ross was convicted of indecency with a child in 1997.
