02:36 PM CST on Thursday, March 8, 2007
COVINGTON, Tenn. -- Tennessee will seek sentences of life in prison without parole for two Texas teenagers charged with killing a state trooper.
District Attorney General Mike Dunavant Thursday announced the plans at arraignment for Alejandro Gouna, 17, and Orlando Garcia, 19.
The Austin teens were indicted Monday on charges of first-degree murder and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
They're accused of killing Trooper Calvin Jenks, 24, on January 6 during what started as a traffic stop.
Jenks was found shot to death beside his cruiser.
Gouna and Garcia were arrested at a motel in Nashville, Tennessee. Each is held on $1 million bond.
