Tanning technique sculpts muscles

Imagine looking tan and toned without even working out or seeing the sun. It may be possible with a new tanning technique.
Standing center stage at DKR Memorial Stadium, the University of Texas Pom Squad doesn't leave anything to chance.
“It's really stressful whenever you have to be tan all the time so you can look good for the crowds,” said Ashley Turner, a member of the squad.
So Turner, along with Katie Anderson, is taking airbrush tanning even a step further. They're getting a "sculpted tan."
After the initial color is sprayed on, the airbrush technician uses a separate solution to shade Anderson’s muscle creases, giving her muscles more depth.
“What we do is we highlight the natural parts of your body, your natural features, to make you look better,” said Zach Medlin, the owner and general manager of Aruba Tan. He says "body contouring" can add visible definition to existing muscles.
“Body contouring is really going to be shadowing and shading any areas where they already have muscle definition, so if somebody's got abs, you're going to take the lines in between their abs and you're going to shadow to make it look smaller,” said Medlin.
Turner chose a darker shade, but in the end, she and Anderson were equally impressed with their results.
“It really defines my muscles and that's really important whenever we're out on the court for games -- you see our muscles and it looks good,” said Turner.
“Muscles are much more defined, which is awesome, especially when we're in our sparkle tops. It makes a big difference because you can actually see it from the huge arena,” said Anderson.
Airbrush tanning usually lasts for about five to 10 days. With the sculpting, it takes about 20 minutes and costs about $50.
