Meals on Wheels and More seeks converter box coupons
03:54 PM CST on Tuesday, January 13, 2009
Meals on Wheels and More wants your DTV converter box coupons if you don't plan to use them.
The agency is collecting donations of the coupons for homebound individuals living in Austin. According to Meals on Wheels and More, most of the agency's clients live in isolation. Television is their way of getting information, and most clients live on a fixed income and cannot afford cable.
Without a coupon, they could lose their connection to the world during the switch to digital television on February 17.
The agency says most of its clients have not applied for a coupon because of a lack of technology, and many cannot afford the full cost of the converter box.
If you have a coupon to donate, call Meals on Wheels and More at 476-6325.
