Boat show docks in Austin
10:35 AM CST on Friday, January 13, 2006
The 2006 Austin Boat Show is anchored at the Austin Convention Center this weekend. You can check out almost anything that floats, from jet skis and wave runners to sailboats. There's also plenty to do. You can try to catch a largemouth bass from a giant aquarium or take a few sailing lessons. "We have a little beginner class that we start off on the smaller boats, and then work on up to the bigger boats," said Robert Barlow, Texas Sailing. "So we can have someone come in that doesn't know anything about sailing and start out from day one, or take folks that are accomplished sailors and move them up to the next level, go offshore. We can take them to that level as well." The Austin Boat Show runs Friday through Sunday. KVUE is a proud sponsor. Admission is free for children six and under; $4 for adults 65 and older; and $8 for adults. You can download a coupon by clicking here.
