Police give all clear after 'armed intruder' reported on St. Edward's campus

Armed intruder reported at St. Edward's Univ.

Saint Edward's University Campus Safety issued an alert Tuesday evening saying there is an armed intruder on the university's main campus.

APD and university police were searching for the suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m. at a nearby, off-campus apartment complex. Law enforcement believe the suspect fled onto the main campus. 

APD set up a perimeter in the area and the campus was placed on lockdown as a precaution. Helicopters and K9s were searching the area. APD said that no shots have been fired by the suspect. 

APD issued an 'all clear' shortly after 10 p.m. St. Edward's University said that extra university police would be stationed around campus throughout the night as a precaution.
