Lakes Travis, Buchanan expected to remain above average through spring

The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) said they expect Lake Travis and Lake Buchanan to remain at levels above average through the spring, even if conditions turn drier.

Water flowing into the Highland Lakes watershed in March was around 63 percent of the historical average for the month, totaling around 56,300 acre-feet (18.35 billion gallons). As of Friday morning, the two lakes are 98 percent full, holding “about 1,968,863 acre-feet” (641 billion gallons) of water.
