AUSTIN - The Williamson County Sheriff's Office cleared the scene near Parmer Lane and Amberglen Boulevard after not finding a source of gunfire Sunday night, according to Sheriff Robert Chody.
According to KVUE's news partners at the Austin American-Statesman, at 4:18 p.m., Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody said there was an "active law enforcement situation" going on near the area and all residents were asked to stay inside. Residents at the Camden apartments also weren't allowed to return to their homes until the area was given the all-clear, Sheriff Chody said.
A spokeswoman for the sheriff's office told the Statesman that deputies were looking for the source of the gunfire, but it wasn't considered a SWAT situation.
At 5:33 p.m., Sheriff Chody said in a tweet response to Austin Interim Police Chief Brian Manley that no active shooter was found after law enforcement searched the apartment complex.
Sheriff Chody thanked Austin Police, the Williamson County Emergency Medical Services and the Wilco Patrol for their assistance.
