ROUND ROCK, TEXAS - The Round Rock Police Department announced Monday that it is sending a second team of officers to relieve police officers who responded to the threats of Hurricane Harvey.
Interim Public Information Officer Rick White said this team of officers will be serving in a law enforcement capacity to relieve officers near Beaumont, Texas.
“This second team of officers will relieve the officers of Vidor and give the opportunity to just spend time with family,” said White. “Some of these officers have worked 14 days without a break.”
White added that an additional team of Round Rock police officers who were sent to help the Houston Police Department would be returning home Saturday.
