No students on school bus that crashed in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS - Authorities report that no students were on board a school bus that rolled over in Georgetown Tuesday morning.

The crash, which has since been cleared, happened at around 7 a.m. on Rockride Lane near Sam Houston Avenue. The Georgetown Fire Department said three people -- the bus driver, the bus monitor and the driver of a utility truck that crashed into the bus -- were all sent to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to GFD, the school bus was headed west on Sam Houston Avenue to pick up middle school children as the utility truck was headed north on Rockride Lane. The vehicles then collided after the utility truck failed to yield at a stop sign, according to Georgetown Independent School District officials.

Authorities are investigating contributing factors such as alcohol and speed.
