Police investigating threat written in Leander school bathroom

LEANDER - Police are investigating a threat that was written in the bathroom of Rouse High School.

According to a letter sent to parents from RHS Principal Christine Simpson, the message was discovered Tuesday afternoon. The graffiti reads, "On October 12th I'm bringing a gun to school and I'm gonna kill everyone. I'm sick of peoples s***!!!!!"

In the letter, Simpson said that police were notified and started an investigation with campus administration. 

"I am not at liberty to discuss details as we investigate this act of mischief, but I can assure you that all students are safe and appropriate discipline will be taken once the investigation is complete," Simpson said. "We take every threat seriously. In an abundance of caution, we will continue to monitor the situation and take additional security measures until the investigation is complete.

The Leander Police Department is investigating the threat. They are also adding increased patrols both inside and outside of the school to ensure the safety of everyone in the building.
