1 sought after police chase in Williamson Co. leads to Austin crash

AUSTIN - A police chase that started in Williamson County made its way to Austin and resulted in a crash along Interstate 35 Friday morning. One of the drivers is still on the run.

According to a Williamson County official, Georgetown police found out about a stolen Ford truck at around 3:45 a.m., and alerted officers that the truck was reportedly accompanied by a Nissan and Toyota. When officers found all three vehicles traveling together south on Toll Road 130, they tried to stop them. That's when all three vehicles led police on a chase.

Eventually, the drivers of the Nissan and Toyota were arrested and will be charged with evading arrest. As the truck fled, it crashed and rolled over in the service road along North I-35. That driver got away and is being sought by police, according to KVUE's news partners at the Austin American-Statesman.

According to KVUE's traffic reporter, the southbound service road between Yager Lane and Braker Lane was completely closed for a while, but has since reopened.
