Man struck, killed on I-35 in South Austin

AUSTIN - The northbound lanes of Interstate 35 near Oltorf Street were closed for around two hours Tuesday after a man was struck and killed.

Austin-Travis County EMS said they were called to the 2300 block of South I-35 around 12:40 p.m. Tuesday for a reported auto/pedestrian crash. A man believed to be in his 40s died in the crash.

Austin police said around 2:50 p.m. Tuesday that the northbound lanes of I-35 had reopened.

The name of the man who died has not been released, pending notification of his family.
