Officials warning drivers after credit card skimmer found at N. Austin gas station

AUSTIN - Officials are warning Austin drivers after a credit card skimmer was found at a local gas station.

The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) said Friday to look out for illegal credit card skimmers after the Austin Police Department found and removed a skimmer device at an Exxon on North MoPac Expressway and Duval Road. The Exxon is located at 12000 North MoPac.

Officers said the gas station did not know it was there.

The TDA said if the credit card scanner looks like it's been tampered with, drivers should move to another pump or pay inside.
