AUSTIN - As motorcyclists moved through town for ROT Rally over the weekend, first responders reported a total of 14 crashes, one of which was fatal.
According to a press release from Austin-Travis County EMS, medics responded to 14 crashes involving 12 patients throughout the weekend. Seven people were taken to the hospital. Go here for a breakdown of where those crashes happened.
One motorcyclist, 28-year-old Raul Diaz, died after he was struck by an allegedly drunk driver. The other passenger on Diaz's bike, his girlfriend, was sent to the hospital with critical injuries. The girlfriend, 25-year-old Estefania Soto, lost her unborn baby after she was thrown from the motorcycle.
