MUGSHOTS: 8 arrested following clash outside African American memorial

AUSTIN - Authorities have released the mugshots of the people who were arrested at the Texas State Capitol over the weekend after the unveiling of the African American History Memorial Monument Saturday. 

When several "White Lives Matter" members began protesting near the monument, a group of counter-protesters formed. Department of Public Safety troopers arrested the following people at the protests and charged them with misdemeanors:

  • Joseph Wayne George, 36,  of Austin was charged with interference with public duty
  • Ryan Christopher Garl, 27, of Austin was charged with assault
  • Joseph Clyde Hinkle, 28, of Austin was charged with assault
  • Robert M. Ussery, 52, of Lockhart was charged with assault
  • David Chau, 32, of Nacogdoches was charged with evading arrest
  • Richard Murry, 28, of Pennsylvania was charged with disorderly conduct
  • Robert Francis Glynn, 25, of Round Rock was charged with evading arrest
  • Thomas Francis McGuire, 31, of Austin was charged with assault
