Man wearing black wig, bright red lipstick accused of robbing south Austin bank

AUSTIN - Austin police are searching for a man accused of robbing a bank while disguised.

Just after 2 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the 1900 block of West William Cannon Drive to a robbery call at Wells Fargo.

Police said a man entered the bank, demanded money and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a black man and about 5-foot-6. Officials said he wore a long black wig that was past his shoulders in length, bright red lipstick, and sunglasses. Police said he was last seen wearing black medical scrubs with an undershirt that had blue sleeves.

Police could not confirm if the man was armed or not, as it's part of the ongoing investigation.

No one was injured.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call police.
