AUSTIN - A man has been accused of hitting several people with a baseball bat outside a group home in North Austin, police said.
Police said the suspect, later identified as Kenney Irons, first slammed a cart into the office door of the group home, then allegedly attacked the house manager on Nov. 18. Irons then used an aluminum DeMartini baseball bat to assault four men near the house, one of whom was in a wheelchair, according to the affidavit.
When the Austin Police Department arrived on the scene, Irons allegedly refused to drop the bat, and had to be tased, police said.
It is unclear in the affidavit whether Irons knew the victims.
Irons has been charged with aggravated assault. According to online records he is currently in the Travis County Jail with a total bond set at $100,000.
