TRAVIS COUNTY - A man has been accused of robbing numerous cell phone stores across Texas at gunpoint, police said.
The suspect, identified as Jeff Allan Johnson, 44, in an arrest affidavit, allegedly entered an AT&T store in South Austin on Nov. 28, around 10:30 a.m. One victim told police that Johnson took out a black handgun and pointed at her stomach, allegedly saying, "I'm not here to hurt anyone. Just give me all the phones, take me to the back,"
The store manager showed Johnson where the phones were and was forced to help him load phones into a bag, police said.
Johnson allegedly told the manager, "Make sure you don't give me the 'Tracer'," referring to a decoy phone that would track Johnson's location.
The manager reported to police that Johnson allegedly took a mix of iPhones and Samsung phones, four Apple Watches, worth approximately $49,000.
Another victim followed Johnson after he left the store and was able to give APD the license plate of his car.
Johnson has been charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, and his bond is set at $100,000.
According to online records, he is not currently in the Travis County jail.
