Man accused of sexual assault during Round Rock drug deal

ROUND ROCK - Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a woman during a drug deal.

Daniel Martin, 24, was charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault, according to the Williamson County Sheriff's Office.

According to an affidavit, WCSO was called at 12:44 a.m. on September 18 and notified about the incident. The victim said that she and her boyfriend met with Martin on the night of September 17 to purchase hydrocodone pills from his dealer.

The victim said that she and her boyfriend met with Martin at Gattiland in Round Rock. Martin insisted that the victim's boyfriend wait at the restaurant while she went with him to meet Martin's dealer and pick up the drugs, according to the affidavit.

The victim went with Martin and he pulled over behind a business on RM 620 and searched her. He took a folding knife that was in the victim's possession. Martin continued driving to a neighborhood near Cat Hollow Park and parked on a street in a dark area. The victim said that Martin then forced her into the cargo area of his Ford Expedition and took her cell phone from her. When the victim told him to return her phone, she said that Martin threatened her with a knife and told her to calm down.

The victim said that Martin began to make sexual advances toward her and she refused. He continued to force himself on her and ignored her requests for him to stop. Martin then sexually assaulted the victim, according to the affidavit.

After the assault, the victim got out of Martin's vehicle and climbed over a fence into a yard and knocked on the back door of a home until she got the attention of the residents.

Police arrested Martin on an outstanding warrant. He told officers that he was in the area to visit a friend, who he would not identify, and pulled over to sleep in his car. He denied knowing the victim or having met with anyone at Gattiland, according to the affidavit.

Police located the folding knife the victim described and the victim's cell phone in Martin's vehicle. Investigators found text messages between Martin and the victim discussing the arrangements for their meeting at Gattiland.

Martin was charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault and is being held at the Williamson County Jail with a bond of $150,000.
