Man accused of laundering $103K from Dallas to Mexico

WILLIAMSON COUNTY - The Williamson County Sheriff's Office arrested a man, who was traveling back home to Mexico from Dallas, for allegedly transporting illegally obtained money.

Deputies said they arrested Juan Pablo Chavarria Rodriguez, 57, June 28 and charged him with money laundering.

Chavarria was pulled over at 1 p.m. for a traffic stop while he was traveling southbound on Interstate 35 in Georgetown.

Deputies said Chavarria showed indicators that he was being deceptive or was involved in criminal activity. When deputies were given permission to search his vehicle, they found $103,915 in the front quarter panels of his vehicle.

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office said their investigation is ongoing.
