AUSTIN - The record-setting crowd that saw the Texas Longhorns upset the Notre Dame Fighting Irish set another record Sunday night for mobile data usage at a game.
According to AT&T, fans at Darrell K. Royal Stadium Sunday night sent 1,037 gigabyes, or roughly 1 terabyte, of mobile data during the game. Put another way, AT&T said that translates to about 2.9 million selfies sent from the stands of the game.
AT&T said the mobile data usage at the game more than doubled any single game last season and an almost 125 percent increase over the home opener in 2015.
Texas takes the field again this Saturday for a game against UTEP that should be a little less of a heart-stopper than the double-overtime win over Notre Dame last Sunday. The game against UTEP kicks off at 6 p.m.
