AUSTIN - Austin Police Department Victims Services received stuffed teddy bears Tuesday morning from the Austin Junior Forum to give to children during traumatic events.
The teddy bears will be distributed to first responders to comfort children in fires, car crashes or medical emergencies.
"Providing a teddy bear during these stressful moments for children can bring them comfort and something tangible for them to hold onto," APD said in a release.
The Austin Junior Forum is a non-profit volunteer organization that supports women, children and elderly people in the community. More information about the Austin Junior Forum and upcoming events is available here.
