Hill Country musician competes for spot on ABC's 'Boy Band' show

One contestant has roots in Central Texas.

AUSTIN - He's not one to mince words.

At 20-years old Miles Wesley has quite the story once you get him talking. Wesley from Meadowlakes is competing on ABC's newest summer show "Boy Band" judged by voters and celebrities.

"When I first heard about it, I was like yea I think I can do this," Wesley said.

Wesley started singing at a young age. He's performed in school plays and written his own music. But he wanted more for his career. Wesley moved to Los Angeles last year and fell on hard times.

During his time in California, he was homeless.

"I didn't really want to come home and I really didn't have any place to go.," Wesley said.

Those days are behind him now, and the focus now is preparation for the main stage.

" I kept looking at the bigger picture. This is just a piece of the puzzle we have to excel," Wesley said.

Boy Band has finished filming the first 3 episodes. The live shows will begin next month.
