HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS - The family of a Kyle teen killed in a hit-and-run the day after Christmas last year is now offering more money to anyone who can provide information on the crash.
Michael Mince, 15, had been struck while walking near a gas station on FM 2001 in Niederwald just east of Kyle. Police said a Dodge Ram 3500 pickup took off after hitting the teen from behind. The truck may have damage to its right side and is possibly missing the side mirror.
The family has increased the reward amount from $1,000 to $2,000.
Joshua Pounders, a friend of Mince's, said he had a kind spirit, loved making new friends and enjoyed playing basketball and swimming. Shortly after his death, Mince's classmates cam together to remember him.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police.
