Harvey benefit show with Willie Nelson, Paul Simon sells out in under 24 hours

If you were looking to get a ticket to the Harvey Can't Mess with Texas benefit concert for hurricane relief... well you might be too late.

AUSTIN - Less than 24 hours after tickets for the Harvey relief benefit concert featuring Willie Nelson, Paul Simon and others went on sale, the Austin show slated for next week has sold out, event management company C3 Presents announced Thursday.

Unable to snag a ticket for Harvey Can't Mess With Texas: A Benefit Concert for Hurricane Harvey Relief? You'll be able to watch from the comfort of your own home because, TEGNA will air the show without commercial interruption across their 11 Texas stations, including KVUE, and stream it internationally on YouTube, from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sept. 22.

Scheduled to take place at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, the event is being dubbed as the largest live benefit concert in Texas and will feature artists such as Willie Nelson, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Leon Bridges, Lyle Lovett, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Ryan Bingham and more, as well as appearances by celebrities such as Matthew McConaughey, Dan Rather, Renée Zellweger, Luke Wilson and more.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Rebuild Texas Fund, which was created by the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation in collaboration with OneStar Foundation. Viewers can donate via rebuildtx.org or by telephone during the broadcast.

Google said it will match the first $500,000 of donations through a pledge challenge and volunteers from Google's Austin office, as well as TEGNA employees, will staff the phone banks at select station locations across the state.

Other TEGNA stations airing the broadcast will include: WFAA, Dallas; KHOU, Houston; KENS, San Antonio; KBMT, Beaumont; KCEN, Waco-Temple-Bryan; KAGS, College Station; KIII, Corpus Christi; KYTX, Tyler; KIDY, San Angelo; and KXVA, Abilene.
