H-E-B to serve up 14K people at annual dinner

Annual HEB Feast of Sharing holiday dinner

AUSTIN - Seven thousand pounds of turkey and mashed potatoes, 280 gallons of gravy, 1,400 pies and 14,000 dinner rolls. That's how much it takes to feed 14,000 people.

And at the annual "Feast of Sharing" event at the Palmer Events Center Tuesday night, that's exactly how many people H-E-B plans to serve up. It's part of the company's year-round effort to fight hunger in Texas and Mexico.

Fifteen different non-profits will be on-site to provide outreach and information on elderly care, health clinics, shelters and community aid centers.

Attendees can also enjoy some live music entertainment and kids can take part in arts and crafts.
