Greg Kelley arrives at Williamson County Jail

That alternative suspect -- Johnathan McCarty is in the Williamson County jail tonight on probation violation charges.

GEORGETOWN, TEXAS -- Greg Kelley -- the man convicted of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old boy in 2014 -- has arrived from state prison to the Williamson County Jail Tuesday.

Kelley was moved from the Wynne Unit in Huntsville, where he has been serving the first three years of a 25-year sentence. Williamson County District Attorney Shawn Dick said that he received "credible" evidence soon after taking office in January that prompted him to ask the Texas Rangers to investigate Kelley's case. That information revealed that someone else may have committed the crime -- Kelley's friend, Johnathan McCarty.

A judge issued the order to immediately return Kelley to Williamson County custody last Friday.
