Georgetown first responders rescue two dogs from flooded home in Fayette County

The Georgetown Fire Department deployed a swift water boat in Fayette County to help with evacuations near La Grange. While on the water, a group of first responders came across two dogs trapped in a flooded home.

GFD said the dogs were stranded in six feet of water. First responders rescued the first dog by entering the flooded house through the front door. The second dog was rescued through a window.

Many residents were forced to leave their homes when the Colorado River in La Grange reached its highest level in over 100 years Monday after Hurricane Harvey slammed Texas.
