AUSTIN -- If you need help enrolling in The Affordable Care Act this year, one Austin agency is offering free assistance.
Volunteers with Insure Central Texas are up and running at Highland Mall during the pre-enrollment period.
Through November 14 that location is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
They are answering questions and helping people determine what they are eligible for, including subsidies.
The enrollment period is notably shorter in 2014, so the agency's director is urging people to stop by sooner rather than later.
"It's less than half the time we had last year. Its three months instead of six months and its over the holidays. So its very important that people act now and not wait until the deadline," said Elizabeth Colvin, the director of Insure Central Texas.
Beginning November 15, the official first day of enrollment, Insure Central Texas will have five locations open across Austin, seven days a week with no appointment needed.
- Highland Mall
- Community Financial Center at Stassney and Westgate
- Lifeworks in East Austin on Pleasant Valley
- Community Care at Southeast Health and Wellness Center at Oltorf and Montopolis
- Round Rock Public Library on Main St.
