First all-woman Honor Flight in Texas departs from Austin

AUSTIN - The first all-women veterans' Honor Flight in Texas departed from Austin Friday to visit memorials in Washington, DC.

Women who served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam are participating in the flight, which is the 38th Honor Flight and the eighth of this year.

The flight departed from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport at 12:45 p.m.

Honor Flight Austin serves veterans in Bastrop, Bell, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Fayette, Gillespie, Gonzales, Hays, Lee, Llano, Milam, Travis and Williamson Counties. To support Honor Flight Austin, click here.
