FCSO: Lobos sniffs out estimated $8 million in liquid meth

FAYETTE COUNTY - Lobos has struck again, the Fayette County Sheriff's Office said, this time sniffing out an estimated $8 million in liquid meth after a traffic stop.

The FCSO announced Monday that Sgt. Randy Thumann and his canine partner, Lobos, conducted a traffic stop on Interstate Highway 10 on Thursday afternoon. Sgt. Thumann reported that after meeting with the driver and passenger of the vehicle, he observed many criminal indicators of narcotics trafficking and was given consent to search the vehicle.

After searching the vehicle, the office said approximately 20 pounds of liquid meth was located in the rear A/C box of the Ford Expedition. The driver, 28-year-old Alonso Cuellar of Laredo, was arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice center where the FCSO said he was charged with felony drug possession.
