Dropkick Murphys bus involved in fatal crash

ROUND ROCK, Texas -- A tour bus for the band Dropkick Murphys was involved in a fatal crash on Sunday after the bus struck and killed 23-year-old Dalton Lane Clark north of Austin, the band wrote on their Facebook page.

Round Rock police confirmed that the accident took place around 3 a.m. in the 2700 block of Interstate 35, between SH 45 and Hesters Crossing in Round Rock. No one from the band was hurt.

Following the crash, the band cancelled their next show, which was scheduled at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa on Sunday night.

According to a post on the band's Facebook page, the Dropkick Murphys were en route to Dallas from San Antonio when a pedestrian "suddenly ran onto the highway," and the bus hit him.

The band said the man was killed on the scene. Local police is investigating whether the incident was a suicide.

"As much as it pains us to miss a show and we truly apologize for it, we'd like to stop and acknowledge that a man has lost his life. Please keep him and any family he might have in your prayers," the band said in their Facebook post.

The band is expected to continue their tour with a scheduled performance in Mexico City later this week.

At this time the accident is still being investigated and the driver of the bus was not cited for any traffic violations.
