AUSTIN - The Domain Northside is the latest salvo fired as the area seeks to become the alternative to downtown Austin.
"I would love to say downtown is one of the arteries, but the heartbeat... we're at the center of Austin," Endeavor Real Estate Group General Manager A.J. Coffee said. "How could it be any better than this?"
Coffee isn't the only one excited about grand opening of the 600-thousand-square foot mixed use development. Shoppers were happy with the new selection of stores to choose from along with the food choices.
"It's awesome," visitor Mindy Minto said. "We just came down to Nordstrom and had lunch at the cafe. It was awesome and then the kids are having a blast."
RH The Gallery, Nordstrom and Archer Hotel Austin are some of the big names at Domain Northside, but there's also dozens of smaller boutique stores like Alex and Ani, which specializes in jewelry made in the U.S. and Sugarfina, a luxury candy boutique.
The latest phase of the Domain development is trying to hit everyone's sweet spot.
"We really wanted Austin to embrace it," Coffee said. "If you look around, you listen, you can feel it in the air. it's very exciting and that's exactly what we want it to bring."
Coffee said there are still more stores and restaurants set to open up at Domain Northside between now and the summer of next year.
