Del Valle escapee added to most wanted list

DEL VALLE, Texas -- United States Marshals haveadded a convicted sex offender and an escapee from a Del Valle halfway house to its 15 Most Wanted fugitive list.

U.S. Marshals say Kevin Patrick Stoeser was serving the remainder of a 156-month sentence for four counts of child sexual assault and one count of possession of child pornography when he escaped from the Austin Transitional Center in October.

Marshals say Stoeser escaped the facility after staff members confiscated a smartphone containing more than 20 images of scantily clad female children.

Stoeser pled guilty to the child sexual assault and child pornography charges in 2003. Marshals say he has committed numerous crimes involving sexual assault against at least five known minors.

Marshals consider Stoeser high-risk and a danger to the community.

All children who come in contact with Stoeser are potential victims of his, said Deputy U.S. Marshal Hector Gomez.

Gomez said Stoeser's ex-wife and daughter live in Killeen, but they don't know whether he's living in Central Texas.

We are not going to dismiss the fact he could be in a transient camp, at a homeless shelter really anywhere, said Gomez.

Marshals describe Stoeser as a 41-year-old white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5'9 tall and weights 170 pounds. He has several tattoos, including the name Kayla intertwined with barbed wire on his left upper arm, Khaos and Stoeser on his chest, barbed wire designs on his right arm and a naked female on his right calf.

Marshals say Stoeser has also used aliases such as Patrick Kevin Stoeser, Patrick Stoeser, Mark Johnson, Kevin Johnson and Jason Thompson.

U.S. Marshals are offering an award up to $25,000 for information leading to Stoeser's arrest. Anyone with information is asked to contact the nearest U.S. Marshals office or the U.S. Marshals Service Communications Center at 1-800-336-0102. Tips may also be emailed to
