AFD: N. Austin house fire likely caused by lightning strike

AUSTIN - A North Austin home was damaged in a fire that fire crews believe was started by a lightning strike Tuesday afternoon. 

According to the Austin Fire Department, the fire broke out at 15405 Brodick Drive near Parmer Lane. AFD said heavy smoke was seen coming from the attic of the two-story home when they first arrived.

AFD said the fire was out shortly before 3:30 p.m. The fire caused significant damage to the home.
