2 killed in Williamson County crash identified

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS - Two people have died after a crash in Williamson County Sunday night, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

At around 11 p.m. DPS said the driver of a Land Rover pulled out from Escalera Parkway onto FM 2243. A motorcycle carrying a driver and a passenger then hit the driver's side of the Land Rover. The two people on the motorcycle were killed on the scene.

Robbie Barrera with DPS identified the victims Monday as 24-year-old Sebastian Sample of Leander and 22-year-old Kaylee Caroline Platz-Panico from Magnolia.

DPS said the driver of the Land Rover told troopers that he saw the motorcycle, but thought he had enough time to turn.
