The City of San Marcos will hold its monthly brushy waste drop-off and community cleanup for garbage and recycling customers on May 13.
As part of the cleanup, the city will accept bulk junk and furniture, recyclable and hazardous waste. Residents will be limited to five passengers and two televisions per household. Those wishing to drop off brush and other “green waste,” as well as junk, recyclables and hazardous waste will be required to provide a copy of a City of San Marcos utility bill and unload their own material at the drop-off site. Green waste that will be accepted includes trees or brush trimmings, leaves and grass clippings. The city noted that brush containing barbed wire or other metals will not be accepted.
The city said the drop-off and cleanup will be 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until the trash containers are full. Residents can reach the community clean up by taking the San Marcos Animal Shelter entrance at 750 River Road and following the signs.
The city states this is done monthly, and will also be done on June 10, July 8, Aug. 12, Sept. 9, Oct. 14, Nov. 11 and Dec. 9. TAP HERE for more information.
