Superhuman feat: Man runs from Beaumont to State Capitol

AUSTIN -- In a superhuman feat, a veteran firefighter ran 420 miles from Beaumont, Texas to the Texas State Capitol for fallen firefighters.

Tony Constanzo, a 31-year veteran, started his run on Oct. 1 and ended at the State Firefighter Memorial.

"There are points and times where you hurt so bad you wanna stop, but I kept telling myself that the misery and the pain that I'm in at the moment is nowhere near the pain and misery a fallen [firefighter experiences] in those last few seconds," Constanzo said.

Constanzo founded the organization Footsteps for the Fallen to raise money for scholarships and the children of Texas firefighters and EMS first responders. Georgetown and Round Rock firefighters even joined him to finish his run.
