AUSTIN – Rosewood Pool will be closed for at least one week for an “unexpected maintenance issue," the Parks and Recreation Department (PARD) said.
The department said in a statement that paint from the bottom of the pool is causing the water to “cloud” and causing poor visibility for the lifeguards. PARD will work to resolve the issue before reopening it, and added Dottie Jordan Pool will open earlier than expected to give residents an alternative pool to visit during the closure. Shuttles from Givens and Govalle Pools will be rerouted to Bartholomew Pool.
The Dottie Jordan Pool is usually closed on Wednesdays, but will be open June 7 and 14. The pool will be open for lap swimming 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. weekdays, and open for lap and recreational swimming 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
PARD said they expect Rosewood Pool to reopen on Saturday, June 17. TAP HERE for more information about Austin pools and splash pads.
